Dr. Anil Bhushan is a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. His lab focuses on understanding how the immune system senses and tunes its response to senescent cells in disease and aging. His lab was one of the first to show the role of clearing senescent cells in models of Type 1 diabetes. They are interested in identifying and targeting the endogenous immune surveillance mechanism that can promote elimination of senescent cells and reverse disease progression.
